So going through my normal research on Doordash and other platforms and sometimes you stumble upon things you wouldn’t see without someone else pointing it out. Recently, Your Driver Mike found out about Zone Exit Bonuses on Doordash.
I was excited for a lot of people about this… until I did some research.
So in this article, We are talking about:
EVERYTHING You MUST Know about Zone Exit Bonuses on Doordash
What they tell you vs how it ACTUALLY is
Everything in between!

It is advised that you conduct your own research and consult with qualified professionals before applying anything you find online.
I also want to be clear that everything we are going to go over is very market dependent, and what applies to me and my market may not apply to you.
First thing to point out on this may seem obvious, but as per many of the pilot programs on Doordash, there are no Help pages on their website available on this. When this happens we go to the obviously most reliable source of information, Reddit.
The Only Available Image*

I am surprised people aren’t talking about this online more, but then again that might be a good sign, we will talk about why that is later.
The Zone Exit bonus is going to be under Doordash Pay, and will be labeled as such. Seems like it is pretty straight forward, if you have to leave your zone to deliver an order, you will be paid more.
This is a good thing for those who have access to it, but that doesn’t seem to be the case for everyone.
*Edit: By the way, after I recorded and posted the video on my YouTube channel I ended up finding more photos and people talking about it...
EBT Only

It started a few weeks ago in my area. Only applies to EBT.
While this would be great for us who prefer to earn by order, it is only available to those who earn by time.
Which makes sense, because they have to find a way to make the Earn by time more appealing especially since gig workers are starting to wise up to their shenanigans.
Sucks for those of us who prefer to earn by order though, I would like to be paid to be sent out of the zone.
LOTS of No Tip orders

This is why I hate earn by time, you never know what the tip will be and they should definitely show tips prior to accepting the offer, I don't care how high the base pay turns out to be it is such a fucking insult when they don't tip.
Yeah, so if you haven’t noticed before, almost all the orders on the Earn by Time mode are orders with no-tips. Which is not surprising but damn, this is how people lose money. Taking orders from ungrateful customers and relying on Promos to make up the difference.
Earn by time has also earned a reputation for drivers who have reported, Contract violations and Account Notices when they didn’t deserve them, Orders under review and Account locks indefinitely, and even wrongful deactivations.
The worst part of it is how proud some of the no-tip customers are for not tipping and being a dick about it.

Doordash Driver: What a trash AF order as this MF’n turd customer didn’t tip 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️😂😂
Presumed Customer: Wingstop Americans don’t tip
Doordash Driver: Agreed as most “Big Fast Food” costumers don’t tip 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️😂😂
They are almost treating the concept of not tipping as a badge of honor. Like what?!
Still Not as Good as Multi-apping
Regardless of your opinions on Doordash, Earn By Time, or any other method of earning on these platforms, it is still not as good as multi-apping. Making sure that you will always have some kind of money coming in from various platforms is still the most effective way to earn.
That means you have multiple apps that you can access for yourself within a diversified gig portfolio. That means you have an exit strategy, the gig economy is an income bridge to what would be a long term goal, not the goal.
That way, you won’t even want to be on an earn by time mode, you can just earn per order and in turn make more for your time. One of the many things that can be accomplished in the Driven Wyld Discord Server.
