First of all, super reasonable question. That said, they would already have your bank info if you already signed up and had weekly direct deposit so nothing really changes there.
Second, in my opinion and based on the experience of being a Doordash driver the concern isn’t so much shouldn’t be “should I tell them where I should send my money”, more like “should I allow Doordash to hold money until the Tuesday after”.
The reality is that Doordash has displayed through various parties that they are willing to remove a person from the platform AND keep their money from the work they did and steal their services, yes theft of services is a thing, and won’t think twice.
That was one of the benefits of Fast pay, you may pay $1.99 but then Doordash can’t do shit!
Payments are usually transferred directly to your bank account within 2–3 days.
Most report that it is transferred the next day but that is phrased this way for legal purposes. This is a bit slower than fast pay but it costs less and you keep your money out of the hands of Doordash.
You can receive notifications about delays and transfer needs.
You can see error messages to resolve issues.
Some common issues include bank issues, transfer issues, and debit card issues.
This is a banking dependent thing and if we are really getting down to it, a case by case issue. That said some people are reporting that they transfer it to Cashapp or Paypal and not worry about it as much, but I don’t know much about that.
I am sure some people will make the point about using the card for cash back purposes, but you can get the same rate, if not a better rate on other cards COMPLETELY unassociated with Doordash.
That said, if you are really looking for ways to make more money, it would be wise for you to diversify your gig portfolio and develop an exit strategy, remember the gig economy is an income bridge to what would be a long term goal, not the goal.
Make sure you have a banking system that is going to be more suited as your business and financial prowess grows, and learn from people who are on the grind with you and developing their own businesses and gig portfolios.
