Doordash has many offer types on the platform and some of which are nonsense and some can be beneficial for drivers financially. In this case, we are going over the Batched Offer on Doordash which sometimes is beneficial and sometimes is garbage.
So in this article, We are talking about:
EVERYTHING You MUST Know about Batched Offers on Doordash
What Doordash tells you vs how it ACTUALLY is
Everything in between!

I also want to be clear that everything we are going to go over is very market dependent, and what applies to me and my market may not apply to you.
Why Did I Receive Multiple Offers at Once?
While dashing, getting more offers means more opportunities to earn! Sometimes, you may even get multiple offers at the same time or sequentially. These are called “batched offers”.

These offers can be framed in a couple of different ways:
1 pick-up, 2 drop-offs
2 pick-ups, 2 drop-offs
2 pick-ups, one drop off
Double, triple and in some markets quadruple
This is not to be confused with a routed offer, but that is for a different post.
What are the Advantages of Batched Offers?
Batched offers allow Dashers to quickly complete two or more orders in less time than usual. Often, batched offers will be picked up at the same restaurant, which increases a Dasher's earnings and efficiency. These batches may happen from time to time, especially during peak hours.
This would be true, if Doordash didn’t play stupid games with the orders. Nowadays most of these offers are kind of nonsense because in a lot of cases, they only provide one base pay per “offer”.
At some point, they provided 2 base pays or they only shaved off $0.50 and you at least had solid tips. Now it is host and leech orders with every decent order.
In any case, this is a tool for Doordash to make some more money on delivery.
How Can I Accept and Complete Batched Offers?
You can accept a batched offers one of two ways:
Accepting an offer that shows 2 or more orders on the offer screen
Accepting an additional offer while on your way to pick up the first order, by clicking the "Add to Route" button
To simplify completing batched offers, the Dasher app will suggest an order of operations for the batch, but as always, you are free to use your best judgment when choosing how to deliver each order. To see all of the orders during a batched offer (and switch between them if you wish), tap the menu at the top of the Dasher app.
Now on Doordash, I usually avoided Batched offers because of how those offers interacted with their hidden tip system.
Note that when Peak Pay is in effect, it may be paid per single or batched delivery.
In most cases, Peak pay is applied by the offers, not the orders. If you see an offer and it seems low for the peak pay amount, it means it only applied one time, but if you see an add-on for an order, that would have a separate peak-pay amount.
Either way, peak pay is to be treated as icing on the cake, not the cake itself.
Multiple Orders, Same Base Pay
Recently, I got a message from a couple of my subscribers, and one of them was Mico the Entrepreneur. Thank you so much for emailing me about this and making this video possible!
What she had noticed was that she was getting batched orders like this and the base pay was staying the same.
Mico: It’s getting out of hand, they are stealing left and right on drivers.
Regardless of why, if you see an order that is not worth it to you as a driver to accept, then you should not accept it.
Host and Leech
Host and leech orders are where within a batched order you have a quality customer who tips their driver well (Host) and a customer who is worthless and didn’t tip at all (Leech).
This is a crappy method that no one really likes but doordash and many other companies offer these out in order to get orders completed. While it is understandable why they do that, that does not mean as a driver that you should lower your standards.
Hidden Tips and Batched Offers
Hidden tips on Batched offers are normally really bad, especially since the hidden tip system makes it really hard to determine the actual value of each order.
Some people are reporting that Base pay is also being hidden, but I haven’t noticed that personally.
Either way, I am a firm believer in #NoTipNoTrip and never accepting any offer that seems low for me. If the face value of the offer isn’t good enough for you, then it should not be accepted.
Jumping Tasks
The Dash Tab Map will always suggest an order of operations for the batch offer, but of course, you are free to use your best judgment when choosing how to deliver each one. As the Dasher, you are the final decision maker, and if you have a reason to change the order of drop-offs to make it more convenient for you, you are free to do so.
To see all of the offers during a batch (and switch between them if you wish), tap the menu at the top of the Dasher app.
One of the benefits on the platform that I think cannot be stated enough is the value of being able to jump tasks. UberEats doesn’t even allow for this and honestly they should.
If you find that it is going to be easier to complete one part of the order before another, you can do that through the concept of jumping tasks.
“Oh this order has a really close drop-off and the other one is further away and for some reason the system isn’t recognizing that? That’s cool, I’ll just jump task.”
“Oh I am going to pass a drop off on my right, and then take a left only to U-turn back to the drop off later, why don’t I just drop this off now and I’ll quickly drop off the other order later.”
It’s an effective tool when used properly, just don’t make more work for yourself than necessary.
Communicating with Customers
Communicate with customers to update them on the status of their order, item availability, and any additional information regarding their order to keep them informed as the delivery progresses. Setting expectations appropriately can go a long way.
By following these tips, you'll be able to navigate batched offers with confidence and provide excellent service to customers.
I am not going to make too many points on this because everyone has their own philosophies on this subject.
I usually only communicate in the event that there is an issue or I am arriving on site. Some people like to send some on my way texts or an intro letter text, but if you need to unassign that makes the text rather messy, but that is up to you.
Still Not as Good as Multi-apping
Regardless of how good or bad these orders are, some people may see them as a way to make more money. That said, you will not make as much money with Accepting Batched orders as you would multi-apping.
